Any tips on how to treat a buttocks rash?

For many years my family has been haunted by some weird rash on their buttocks, probably some genetic thing. My grandma had a great recipe against it: Basically a mixture of vinegar and fresh apples. As she was some sort of witch and totally into a kind of neopaganism (before it became a trend among youngsters) she would also connect this to the lunar cycle. Here are the procedures: At half-moon, you would put small pieces of apple into half a gallon of apple vinegar and store the whole mixture in a dark and cool place. At full moon you take the container around midnight and walk three and a half circles outside the house. After this, you take a brush made from horse hair and apply the vinegar onto your buttocks, carefully following rectangular movements. I’m not sure about the moon thing, but if you keep the basic time frames, this might work for you as well.
