How long after taking medication for pink eye can I start using makeup again?

If you are taking medication for pink eye, you should not start using makeup until the condition has completely resolved itself. This is often when the antibiotics have all been taken. On an average dose, this can take about ten days.

Even when it feels like the conjunctivitis has cleared up, doctors usually urge patients to finish their prescription at the normal dosage. Symptoms tend to disappear before the underlying condition. Patients who abruptly stop a medication before it has run out may end up finding that the condition reappears. If it does occur again, it may be as an antibiotic-resistant strain that is much harder to treat.

Pink eye, known as conjunctivitis, is basically the inflammation of the conjunctiva, which is the outer membrane of the eye. This condition can be caused by either a virus or a bacteria. Pink eye is highly contagious, so treatment is typically recommended right away.
