What can help the dry skin that comes along with Accutane?
For some, Accutane is the only thing that is effective at clearing up problem skin. Unfortunately, sometimes it can end up causing another skin problem” dryness. So, how can the dryness be avoided and problem skin finally banished? First, be sure to only take the minimum effective amount. Taking more Accutane than what is needed is a sure fire way to suffer from dry skin. Talk to you doctor if you feel like your dosage could be lowered. Secondly, stay out of direct sun as much as possible and be sure to always wear sun block when outdoors. Sun exposure while on this medication will only increase skin irritation. Finally, be sure to use mild cleansers and face products. Drink plenty of water, use lip balm and a gentle face lotion to keep the skin hydrated.
