What is good to use on an allergic rash from betadine?

If you did not know you were allergic to betadine and have been treating a wound with topical betadine, you may find yourself with a rash or dermatitis that has worsened the situation and made your skin even more inflamed. If you are experiencing this reaction from betadine, the first thing to do is to clean the area immediately and apply a steroid cream or a cortisone cream to make sure that the rash is protected and is not going to become bigger. In case the cream does not improve the situation, you may need to get a steroid injection that will provide a faster relief of the rash you are experiencing. Finally, if the reaction to the betadine is not only causing skin rash but you are developing symptoms like difficulty breathing, a sign of an anaphalactic reaction, you really need to visit an emergency room where you will be likely given epinephrine.
